Ego Restaurants

This restaurant chain is one of our favourites, so being asked to design a musical personality for this growing brand was a labour of love for our music programming team. Established in 1997, this Mediterranean-style restaurant group has grown to nine restaurants across the North West and Midlands. And because they are being run by the management team which built up the La Tasca chain, we are confident that you will see more and more of this brand in years to come.

Using predominantly fresh and locally sourced produce, the Mediterranean inspired menu offers quality casual dining for their many visitors. Aimed squarely at the over-40’s who don’t want to have to go into the city centre to find a decent restaurant, the Ego brand is to be found in affluent suburban areas and provides quality casual dining with table service.

Their strategic watchword is loveliness – from the moment you step inside any of their restaurants you will feel like you have entered a little oasis away from the stresses of daily life. It’s in the decor, it’s in the menus and it’s in their people.

The Ego concept isn’t new or unique; in fact they have borrowed it from the millions of people who live throughout the Mediterranean and who believe that it is important to make time to enjoy a good meal with friends and family. That’s one of the most valued traditions of the Mediterranean culture, something that’s enabled generations of people to find a good work-life balance and to lead a healthy lifestyle.

The philosophy is very simple. Ego restaurants are about great food, a relaxed atmosphere and a wonderful dining experience – perfect for everything from a quick lunch to a four-course dinner. All of their dishes are cooked fresh to order using only the very best ingredients. Wherever possible they will buy local, organic produce and their menus always make the most of whatever is in season. This means that there steaks are a little juicier, their salads a little crisper and their desserts a little sweeter.

Musically they naturally wanted the personality of the brand to come alive and connect with the customer. So our music programming teams visited the restaurants and created a musical signature that blended Latin jazz, modern Flamenco and Latin chill-out tracks to support all of their trading needs.
